As a Domain Name Specialist, you will ensure the successful publication of our customers’ YP websites by handling domain name related tasks. You will also responsible for transferring existing email or setting up new email accounts to our platform, investigating domain name related issues,releasing domain names to customers, and troubleshooting email issues.

 

Responsibilities:

 

  • Processing domain name transfer requests.
  • Assisting customers with the publication of their website if they choose not to transfer their domain to YP (DIY).
  • Updating various systems using the information provided in the request.
  • Conducting a thorough analysis of the client’s current domain name and email settings, determining any of the risks associated with transferring the domain and/or email and conveying this to the client to help them make the best decision on how to proceed.
  • Deciding whether a domain name transfer can be initiated or not and providing appropriate alternatives when necessary.
  • Checking the production status of the website in an effort to gauge priorities.
  • Initiating domain name transfers, documenting various applications and disseminating pertinent information to the parties concerned.
  • Forwarding requests to other internal departments as needed.
  • Point of contact within YP for all questions or issues relating to domain names.
  • Tracking transfers from their initiation until the website publication.
  • Ensuring transparency of the process so as to promote a positive customer experience.
  • Answering various process questions from Directors and other stakeholders, in a clear and concise manner.
  • Dealing with complex cases and escalations; determining which actions must be taken in order to correct the situation and following up until resolution is achieved.
  • Establishing and maintaining contacts with various YP departments, offices and suppliers in order to resolve domain name related issues.
  • Communicating directly with clients or technical representatives to ensure the successful completion of domain name and email related tasks.
  • Releasing domain names to customers while adhering to established policies and procedures.
  • Troubleshooting email issues with client on webmail and sometimes on their 3rd party devices (limited support).
  • Assisting the inbound call team with support on domain and email related issues when needed.
  • Conducting an in-depth analysis of current settings for client domain names and email, determining the risks associated with transferring the domain and/or email and the potential impact for the client.  Deciding whether the domain name transfer can be initiated or not and providing appropriate alternatives.

What do you need to be a Domain Name Specialist at Yellow Pages?

 

Education, Experience and Technical skills:

 

  • College or CEGEP diploma
  • 2-3 years of experience in an environment that focuses on technology, online products or customer service.
  • Computer skills: Word, Excel, Windows, Internet
  • The use of multiple applications : ability to simultaneously navigate between programs
  • Creating, editing and moving files
  • Cut/Copy/Paste information from one program to another
  • E-mail: Ability to draft and send e-mails to ensure that they are organized and that technical information is easy to understand
  • Bilingual
