What is a Product Manager at Yellow Pages?

 

Product Managers are at the center of Yellow Pages strategic vision, as they help shape the products and services we bring to market to support Canadian Businesses. Yellow Pages is a leader in digital marketing solutions for Small and Medium Size Businesses, and offers a suite of solutions from Online Advertising Placement, to Google Adwords, Websites, Facebook Ads, SEO and much more.

 

The Product Manager is responsible for fully managing the launch of specific products/features for the product/services assigned to them, from ideation and conception through to launch and life cycle management.


The Product Manager participates in overall marketing/product strategy, in research and development for existing, new and emerging products.

 

 

The Product Manager also leads the coordination and implementation of approved strategies and product improvements, and is responsible for defining business rules and for successfully aligning requirements with business objectives.

 

 

Key Areas of Responsibility

 

  • Responsible for developing and implementing new products/services/ along with comprehensive marketing strategies
  • Develop product definitions, expertise and training to other departments involved in product development or in the roll out of new products/features.
  • Coordinate and work closely with the product development team and other cross-functional team members like sales, customer care and operations to meet business objectives.
  • May lead life cycle management for existing products and services
  • May identify and recommend product improvements to fit customer needs.
  • May determine product/feature development priorities, as well as partner opportunities.
  • Work with business units in developing product roadmaps to ensure business objectives and financial targets are met.
  • Participate in writing the product requirements and defining processes.
  • Collaborate in project management responsibilities: determine key deliverables, introduction schedules and process that need to be put in place.
  • Short term monitoring of product performance along with market trends, user feedback, customer needs, competitive information and market research for a given product line to determine the right feature set for buyers and sellers and fit with market needs.
  • Mid-/long term planning: analyze market conditions to identify new business opportunities and strategies in the mid / long term.

What do you need to be a Product Manager at Yellow Pages?

 

 

Education, Experience and Technical skills

 

  • 2 to 5 years of product management experience in a publication or web-based environment.
  • Proven track record of successful products launch and management.
  • Basic understanding of marketing research concept as well as financial tools to initiate business cases.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills (French and English).
  • At ease with Microsoft Office.
  • Bachelor or masters degree in business or marketing.
